Redondo Beach United is a citizen’s group, comprised of residents, business owners, community leaders and supporters who stand together for a NO vote on Measure A (to read the poorly worded initiative, click HERE).
LATEST UPDATE:
As their role as an intervener, The City of Redondo Beach submitted a letter to the CEC stating that ”…the City believes the Application does not meet the requirements of Appendix B, and is therefore data inadequate.” Our City Staff hard at work serving the interest of our community. Let the process take its course without Measure A. There is a better way. Here is a link to the letter.
Measure A – “The Redondo Beach power plant phase-out initiative measure”:
- Threatens our local economy with unintended consequences
- May position taxpayers into unnecessary litigations
- Limits resources to revitalize our community
- Sets a bad precedent for property owners and business investors in our community.
This poorly written measure, authored by a minority group without the community’s input, has no viable means for funding or guarantees to deliver what it claims: “to rid the powerplant”. It mostly likely will result in failed progress and long term existing structure for decades. No matter where you stand on the power plant, this initiative does not produce the best and highest results. Planned progress takes time, it is not a “now or never” proposition. When something sounds too good to be true – take a closer look. Read for yourself and weigh in on the facts. www.facebook.com/revitalizeredondo
